Terms and
Conditions |
Yachts charter on clearly defined terms. For yachts registered under Greek flag the following apply: |
"The charter rate includes the hire and insurance of the yacht, a fully qualified crew, fed and insured, water and ship's laundry. Excluded are fuel, all meals, soft and alcoholic drinks, communication costs, harbour dues and local taxes." |
Repositioning
charges |
If you require your yacht to relocate to a port of embarkation or disembarkation away from its home port, delivery and/or re-delivery fees will be charged based on the time incurred and the fuel consumed. |
How to
book |
When you have selected a yacht, and the dates and ports of embarkation and disembarkation have been agreed, we will prepare your Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). We will send you this agreement to be signed and returned to us. At this point 50% of the Charter Fee should be transferred to our Bankers to secure your reservation. Your copy, fully countersigned, will be returned to you on embarkation.
The balance of the Charter Fee, together with any agreed advance towards provisioning of the yacht (A.P.A.) as well as any delivery or redelivery fee, if applicable, will be due for payment one month prior to embarkation. |
Advance
Provisioning
Allowance
(A.P.A.) |
This is meant to cover all expenses excluded from the charter rate under Greek Terms: fuel for the yacht, fuel for tenders, ski boats and other water toys, food and wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks for the charterers, other consumable stores, laundry, telephone, fax or telex via Satcom, Radio Telephone or telex costs, Corinth Canal dues if applicable, hire costs of special equipment placed on board at the request of the charterer, airport transfers and car rental when required. The amount can vary depending upon the sort of yacht and the type of itinerary chosen and the provisions requested by the charterer, but in general it will fall somewhere between 10-25% of the charter fee. |
Gratuities |
It is customary to leave a gratuity for the entire crew with the Captain at the end of the charter, with instructions as to how it should be distributed. The amount is left to your discretion, but a figure within the range of 10-15% of the charter fee is usual. |
Cancellation Insurance
and Curtailment |
We advise all charterers that cancellation and curtailment insurance is available for approximately 1% of the charter rate. Upon request, we will enclose a proposal form with the Memorandum of Agreement, to be completed in order to obtain an exact quotation from our insurance brokers. |
Itineraries |
We will be delighted to assist with the planning of your itinerary. In conjunction with the Captain, our combined experience will help to advise you of what can be sensibly achieved in the time available, along with the best places to visit, the best anchorages, etc. We recommend that itineraries be kept as flexible as possible as they are subject to various factors such as weather conditions or your own changes of heart.
Any preplanned itinerary, with the exception of the Port of Redelivery, may be changed in consultation with the Captain; if there are legal restrictions which prevent the Captain from complying with your request he will generally be able to explain these to you but if you need clarification on any point in question please call our office. The Captain's decision is final relating to any matter regarding the safety of the yacht and those on board. |
Life
on board |
At least one month prior to embarkation, we will send you a Charterer's Requirement form to complete, requesting details such as guest information, food and drink requirements, recreational preferences and flight times. Please complete this as fully as possible and return it to us no later than three weeks prior to embarkation to enable us, your Captain and his crew, to prepare the yacht in accordance with your requirements. Life on board can be as formal or relaxed as you want. Within reason, meals can be taken when and where you choose and most yachts are able to comply with your diet requirements. |
Water
Sports |
The Captain and crew will gladly instruct you in the use of the yacht's water sports equipment. Most yachts carry a range of such equipment, but we can not guarantee that it will be the same as what is listed in the brochure. Jetskis may be operated by the charterers themselves but only with care and due consideration for the peace and safety of other yachtsmen, swimmers etc. Tenders may only be used in the company of experienced crew members. |
Travel |
We can assist in booking your party's travel arrangements: commercial flights -international or local- private aircraft or helicopter and car hire. We can also take care of your local hotel accommodation upon arrival and/or completion of the charter, if necessary. We will organise land excursions to places of interest from one of your ports of call and we will provide you with a guide, if you so wish. |
